Silverfish facts — no need to panic
They are wingless and shy, so they sprint for cover when the lights flip on.
They keep molting as adults, which is rare among insects.
Estimated lifespan: around 2 to 8 years.
You can live for years with the same silverfish in your home.
They do not transmit disease.
A silverfish usually lays fewer than 100 eggs in her lifetime.
Their diet leans toward starches and glue (paper, book bindings, crumbs), not people.
They are an ancient lineage of insects that has barely changed in form.
They eat spare starches and crumbs you did not mean to leave behind.
They can be low-key enrichment for indoor cats who like to watch tiny skittering creatures.
They can live as long as the average marriage lasts, which is long-term companionship energy.
Adorable, in a tiny ancient-dinosaur way.

This is what the site WOULD have looked like in 1997. Probably.
